Happy Birthday Mark E. Smith

Today The Fall's Mark E. Smith celebrates his 56th birthday!

Mark was born in Broughton, Salford in 1957 and formed one of the biggest cult bands in the world back in 1976.  The band has gone through many well documented changes during their almost 40-year history and have gained many fans along the way.

29 studio albums, countless singles, EPs, live albums and compilations later and the band are still going strong, but it's frontman Smith who remains the band's biggest draw.

The band also have the impressive record have having release new material every year since they formed, a record which will remain intact again this year with the release of their forthcoming album 'Re-Mit'.

Here are some of my MES favourites over the years...

Rowche Rumble (1979)

Cruiser's Creek (1985)

High Tension Line (1990)

Touch Sensitive (1999)

Blindness (2005, 2007 Last Night at Hammersmith Palais)

Reformation (2007)

Fledermaus Can't Get in [Von Südenfed] (2007)

Bury Pts 2 + 4 (2010)
